Vision Australia has been looking at how we can extend the delivery of our programs and services in Tasmania. It’s important to us that we learn about the experiences and ideas of people who are blind or have low vision, so that we are able to prioritise and design services that complement your existing services and best meet your needs.

We have been working with Tasmanians from beginning to end, layering insights to build a comprehensive picture of the goals you want to achieve and the services you want to support you. Over 95 Tasmanians joined us across this survey, interviews, focus groups and a short service experience.

You told us that, among other things, connection is most important to you. You want to link with other Tasmanians for ideas, support and recreation. You also let us know that you want information about your funding options like the National Disability insurance Scheme (NDIS) and My Aged Care.

We can already help with some of these goals with services like Quality Living Groups, the Adaptive Technology Helpdesk and our NDIS and My Aged Care information lines. Please contact Vision Australia on 1300 84 74 66 for more information. We also look forward to taking your advice about new ways we can support Tasmanians to live the life they choose, so thank you again and stay tuned.
