Welcome to Zest - a place for youth, by youth.

Hi! I'm Conor, and I am the Client Insights Co-ordinator with Vision Australia. With my awesome team mates, it's my job to look after Zest, and to tell you about the forums and how you can get involved.

What is Zest?

Zest is a cool online community for people aged from around 18 to 35 who are blind or who have low vision. From friendships to confidence, if it's part of everyday life, we're talking about it here.

Check out The Story of Zest on Talking Vision (audio).

Here's how you can get started - it's easy:

1. Check out our handy audio guide on how to use Zest

2. Register for Participate Vision Australia here or login

3. Say hi - go to our guestbook and introduce yourself

4. We'll say hi back and introduce you to the forums

5. Come and hang out for a while, let us know about your experiences, or ask that burning question that's on your mind.

What's in Zest?

Zest has six different forums:

Within each forum you'll find a description of the page, followed by the forum and then further links: ‘Useful links’ connects you to further information and resources; and ‘Useful documents’ can be read and downloaded to keep on your device. Occasionally we will add other features to these pages.

We are interested in hearing from lots of different people about lots of different things - so, get sharing!

Don't miss out on a new post...

FOMO (fear of missing out) is a thing of the past at Zest. Just click here to stay informed and be notified when something new has been added to the forums.

How can we make Zest better?

The Zest team welcomes suggestions and ideas to improve Zest. To contact us or make a suggestions simply email: zest@visionaustralia.org

The small print:

While we try to ensure the Zest pages have accurate information and resources, Zest is a place for people to share personal experiences and solutions. The information on these pages is not meant to be a substitute for professional assistance or advice.

Hi!  We'd love to get to know you a little better, so tell us about yourself!  Here are some questions to get you started, or just simply introduce yourself...

1.  What's your favourite way to relax?

2.  Aside from friends or family, who would you love to hang out with?

Hi I am Jane. I was one of the team who helped build Zest, after volunteering for VA in youth-related work. I am a young client of VA and I’m based in Brisbane. I’ve just started working and I’ve recently left university. I’m a runner and I’m also an avid reader. Happy to be a part of Zest!

Hi, my name is Sarah. I am supporting 2 students with low vision at TAFE.
I am interested in finding simple tools or assistive tech to help in class.
Thanks.

I am Conor. I was one of the team who built Zest and I am also a younger client of Vision Australia. I am 27 and from Sydney. I have just booked my first solo travel holiday for San Fran Sisco next year and am pretty stoked about it.
