Hello! Name's Gareth, 39-years, living in the outer-eastern suburbs of Melbourne. I enjoy keeping fit by lifting heavy things up and putting them back down, moderate cardio. and eating well and healthy (sweet potato is awesome!). Fitness is a passion of mine, which I'd love to someday make into a career as a one-on-one personal trainer working with injured former military, the impaired and those living with psychological trauma seeking to regain their confidence and individuality. A follow-up career is a Remedial Therapist.
These days I keep entertained playing games, going out and socialising, and preparing for future studies. I proudly admit to being quite the homebody, sling puns wherever able and enjoy satire and timed lines from Monty Python. I've had numerous jobs over the years, mostly customer service; and hobbies galore scaling across the arts, from high-fantasy artwork to narration and amateur voice acting with a keen interest in radio voice overs.

I was born with bilateral retinoblastoma - cancer of both retina, in layman's terms - and have had low vision all my life. Currently living with glaucoma and get about with a white cane. It's just a flesh wound.

Hi, I'm Josh, I'm 24, from Sydney, and have been legally blind from birth--my mum unknowingly came into contact with someone with rubella while she was pregnant with me and I was born with cataracts in both eyes. They were removed (although my first doctor said nothing was wrong) as my parents knew something wasn't quite right, and I was rushed into surgery before losing all my sight, so I only lost 90% instead, though I try to be grateful for the 10% I do have, it might not seem like a lot, but its a lot to me. I've struggled with isolation and would love to make some new friends who are in the same boat (most of the VI friends I've made are older, and I'd love to find people here, and think Zest is such an awesome idea). I have a pretty wide range of interest and hobbies, including football, gaming, writing, wrestling, Disney, and much else. I'm also someone who is passionate about helping others--I've struggled with depression but it makes me happier when I can help others feel better about themselves and their lives.

Hi, my name is Hailey. I’m 31 & aquired a vision impairment in my early 20’s. This life experience has shaped my professional endeavours & I went on to further study to become a specialist vision teacher.
I love what I do, the students I work with and all things ‘vision’. I volunteer in the sector of disability, specifically Deafblindness and am an avid advocate for change & understanding in the world of disability, services & I hope to one day play a part in the influence of positive change in government policy structure & development for people & families living with disability.

I like to travel, keep fit, snowboard, go to the theatre, listen to music, attend country music concerts & festivals, spend time with family and friends and imerse myself in opportunities to experience and learn new things.
